HIIIIIIII!

I’m sorry, I totally abandoned eiffelinlev. Since I came back from Korea, I’ve been dilly dallying, slowly unpacking my luggage (seriously, someone needs to invent a robot to do this for me, it is really really really tiring mans), going out every single day either for tuition (surprisingly, I have 3 tuition assignments this holiday! Alhamdulillah!) or out with Aman <3, or y’know meet my girlfriends and stuff. Then, there’s the part where I’m participating in Hijabi Fashion Week for sghijabgirl and I’m cracking my brains (HAHA EXAGGERATING) to come up with looks for each and every theme. Plus, I still haven’t finish putting together the giveaway package I intend to do on sghijabgirl WAI AM I SO SLOW :’(

Plus, I documented one fine school day and I still haven’t had time to put the pictures into a blog entry.

Okay lah excuses. The thing is, ever since my Korea trip, I’ve been missing Korea so I’ve been watching Kdramas starring Lee Min Ho. From day to night, I’m staring at the hotness that is Lee Min Ho and laughing and crying which is actually really belo since I already know what the storyline is and the ending, so ya, I don’t know what I’m doing lah. I miss Korea! Oh ya, I’ll post about Korea too when I find the time to do that heheh.

In the meantime, I shall leave you with this view of Seoul from the Namsan Tower. Gorgeous mans.

Btw, wordpress has this thing where I can actually know which specific entry is read by someone, and I have somebody reading nearly all my entries. Hi, come say hi. I don’t bite. :)

x, Nadia!

The day after, we woke up super early to get some breakfast! We had our second beef noodles! Basically, Zhaodong is a Muslim city, so anywhere you go, you’ll have no trouble finding Halal food and apparently, Beef Noodles is like, what Nasi Lemak is to us. Everywhere you go, the stalls will confirm plus chop plus stamp serve Beef Noodles. Although so far, I’ve tasted Beef Noodles from about, 5 different stalls there and they all taste DIFFERENT! Really! It’s like, they all have their own special sikret recipe that distinguishes them from the other stalls.

For this second one, the noodles were different. Sort of like Maggi Mee and they had no pickled vegetables but more minced meat! If I remember correctly, this one was much spicier than the one before.

PhotobucketMe and my scandalicious Anisah huhuhu.

PhotobucketThey had like, 40 of these dim sums steaming outside of the shop. My gosh, what a sight. We were all so hungry so we ordered both heheh greedy. See the piping hot smoke coming from it? Yes, it was really hot and the filling was super yummy. Beef and some dunno what veggies. Sedap gilz.

PhotobucketOur favourite bakery! Whenever we were at Zhaodong, we will surely, surely buy something at this bakery. Usually I’ll get the Portuguese Egg Tarts and the Egg Custard. Plus, a packet of this crunchy bread biscuit thingy I don’t know how to describe but it was really good! I bought lots of it but accidentally left it behind at Yang Tzai Village. Silly me -.-PhotobucketAt first, I was dubious about street food. But ala, just eat la. Its not always that you get to taste China street food heheh.Photobucket

PhotobucketSo then, we made our way to the village. The 7 of us in a small van and boy, was it such a bumpy ride! I was seated beside the window and er, there was no window so the wind (and dust) blew right into my face. Though the view was certainly worth it. Rows after rows of agricultural farming, definitely amazing. Photobucket

From a distance away, we could already see that the villagers actually gathered to welcome us!!!! We all felt super touched to the point that we wanted to tear up! I mean, the weather was scorching hot and the little kids were just standing there, waiting for us and when our van drove past them, they all kept saying Assalamualaikum, repetitively @_@ Not only the little kids, the elderly were there too. Super touching to the max. Photobucket

HAHAHHAA OKAY the story behind this toilet shot. Okay, when we were back in SG, our leader and co leader told us that we’d have to do our business in some dodgy gross toilet with no water and all. I was really really really prepared for the worst. I brought a million wet wipes, I think. I even devised a plan to really cut down on my meals so I won’t have to visit the toilet HAHAHAHAHA. To be honest, I’m the kind of person who can sleep anywhere. No bed, ok. Sleep on the ground, ok. BUT TOILET, CANNOT ANYHOW.

So yeah, when we entered our “hostel”, OMGOSH I saw the toilet and I jumped up and down with Anisah. HAHAHAHA. Damn funny seh like never see toilet before. Not any normal toilet eh, there was even a rain shower AND WATER HEATER. In my entire life, I’ve never felt happier to see a toilet. Seriously. HAHAHAHAHA. Ya, I just rambled two paragraphs on the washroom.

After all of us arrived, we walked down the steep slopes (eh sumpah tak bedek damn steep the kind you feel like anytime you gonna slip and fall off the cliff HAHA drama) of the village to the local mosque! The kids study in a classroom there so we decided to pay a visit to the classroom that we were going to use for the next 9 days. Photobucket

When I first saw the classroom, my heart sank. Really. In picture, it looks quite okay. But the truth is, it was dark, super dusty and there was a funny smell. Immediately, I felt so thankful. Alhamdulillah, I was given the chance to study in a clean environment and then, even with such an environment, I felt so lazy to go to school. These kids go to school everyday, going down the steep slopes and walk from super far away. Ah, such is life. Photobucket

When I saw this super cute kid, I thought of my bestfriend, Aini. HAHA cos she loves Apples!

Photobucket

The Imam’s two daughters. So cute. I realise that the people there usually just let their children wander off on their own. Even with the steep slopes and sudden cliffs and all, somehow the toddlers there kind of know where they shouldn’t go. Street smart. Photobucket

Our first group shot right infront of the newly built school! :) Photobucket

Our first meal there! AHHHH it was so niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. There was a huge spread of food but then it was our first time using chopsticks to eat rice. So ya, can you imagine, I think rice flew everywhere huhu. Photobucket

OKAY WILL CONTINUE DAY 3 SOME OTHER TIME.

I have a feeling tomorrow’s going to be a really great day! InsyAllah! :)

xoxo, NADIA!

Wooooooooo. Finally.

Okay Bismillah.

On the 6th of June (HAHAHA SUPER LONG AGO), we all gathered at the airport for our 4 hour flight to Kunming! We wereto fly off at 2am so yeah, can you imagine, I was really sleepy but super excitedz at the same time heheh! My parents and Aman sent me off and it was really nice to see familiar faces at the airport :D Photobucket

The whole team with our super awesome banner! Heheh.Photobucket

Upon arrival, gosh it was such a headache. Lots and lots of waiting cos there was a super long queue but only 2 or 3 immigration officers. Seriously.Photobucket

We were all starving like mad cos the airplane messed up our Halal Food and we didn’t get to eat any on board! Only had bread and some juice. I usually look forward to airplane food (HAHA yes I have a deep inexplicable love towards airplane food yums) but this time, wah, what a disappointment. Off we went to the nearest mosque!

DUMPLINGS SO CUTE HEH.Photobucket

OH SO NAISE. The minute I saw the cucumber, I instantly remembered the food I had in Beijing when I went there in 2006 if I’m not wrong. The Chinese really know how to cook their veggie mans. No msg or whatever but it really tastes so goooooood. Plus, the fried rice. YUM. Winning combination.Photobucket

After that, we went on board the Sleeper Bus! The minute I stepped on it, I immediately thought of Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban!!!! (yes I’m a Harry Potter geek) Remember? When he ran away, stuck out his wand and this sleeper bus came and pick him up? EXACTLY LIKE THIS. Huhuhuhuhuhu. We had our buddy system, so my buddy, Faizah and I picked our bed. I took the top bunk WAH DAMN SYIOK but to be honest, I was really scared to sleep, in fear that I might just topple off hoho. Photobucket

The ride was really really long and after awhile, I got tired of lying down. At that point of time I was so into the minah song, Stereo Love. So I cruised along with it all the way, feeling feeling you know, what with the awesome views and all haha!

OLD SKOOL YO.

Photobucket

WAH SERIOUSLY THIS ONE. No words can describe man, super duper trooper NAISE. Just the right amount of spiciness and the beef soup, fuyo, damn syiok. Plus, the pickled vegetables and the chewy soft noodles AHHHHH *drools*Photobucket

While some of the group went back to rest, we explored the streets of Zhaodong for some MAHMING WHEEHEE.

Photobucket

Okay, until now I don’t know why it’s called MAHMING. It’s their version of satay except theirs win ours hundred times over ah. Hands down. With 3 sticks for 1 yuan, about 20 cents, we bought like, hundreds I think HAHAHA. Greedy to the max. Photobucket
