Amidst our busy schedules, with my practicum right now (I don’t really do anything except observe or teach a bit here and there but believe me, I’m not joking when I say I come back, crawl onto my bed and fall asleep in a jiffy) and him, being a student and all, its really a miracle that we get to sneak in our weekly dates in between.
I’ve been wanting to try out Loysel’s Toy Cafe for quite some time but just, never got to it. Then, the other day, I read fuzzygreenlights’ entry about her visit and I went, that’s it, no more procrastinating, I must go right about now!
People have been telling me that its really inaccessible by public and I have to agree. Even with the car, we still had to use gps and all cos er, it’s really far off inside.
The cafe’s very quaint and quiet. I mean, I guess I’m so used to the stereotype of loud grinding blender sounds whenever I have my caffeine fix at Starbucks that it gets awkward to be in a coffee place and hear only murmurs of conversations and the occasional tinkling of the spoon against the interior of a teacup.
Haha! Don’t be irritated by our faces. I was trying to illustrate to Aman about a super cute scene in Secret Garden (yes, the current kdrama I’m watching sigh when will this phase end?).
The combination of the bar of dark+dairy milk chocolate with coffee, mmm heavenly.
I love the interior. So unique and unlike any other cafes I’ve been to.
We were starving so we made our way to Vintage Delicafe. THIS ONE. I’ve heard so many people rave about it, really, countless of times. True to their name, the owner decorates the interior with lots of vintage items. You name it, from typewriter to an old school radio, super interesting!
I had the shock of my life when we were served cos yes, the serving was really hugeeeee. Its unbelievable especially when you look at the price and my gosh, its really really affordable. I had the Grilled Dory Fish with Pomodoro Sauce. I generally prefer chicken/meat over fish but I guess there is an exception for Dory fish fillets. Heheh.
As usual, being the typical meat eating man, Aman had the steak with black pepper sauce. Yums. Though my Dory still wins huhuhu.
I wanted to try something from their variety of tea but the weather was scorching hot so I settled for some Vanilla Cream. Smooth.
In an attempt to get rid of our guilt since we’ve been eating a lot these days, we went for a walk along Haji Lane. Spotted this store selling these super cute bikes, practically ran into the store and immediately ran back out after looking at the super hefty price tags! Haha!
Alrights, toodles!
