$10-$50

Amidst our busy schedules, with my practicum right now (I don’t really do anything except observe or teach a bit here and there but believe me, I’m not joking when I say I come back, crawl onto my bed and fall asleep in a jiffy) and him, being a student and all, its really a miracle that we get to sneak in our weekly dates in between.

I’ve been wanting to try out Loysel’s Toy Cafe for quite some time but just, never got to it. Then, the other day, I read fuzzygreenlights’ entry about her visit and I went, that’s it, no more procrastinating, I must go right about now! :) People have been telling me that its really inaccessible by public and I have to agree. Even with the car, we still had to use gps and all cos er, it’s really far off inside.

The cafe’s very quaint and quiet. I mean, I guess I’m so used to the stereotype of loud grinding blender sounds whenever I have my caffeine fix at Starbucks that it gets awkward to be in a coffee place and hear only murmurs of conversations and the occasional tinkling of the spoon against the interior of a teacup.

Haha! Don’t be irritated by our faces. I was trying to illustrate to Aman about a super cute scene in Secret Garden (yes, the current kdrama I’m watching sigh when will this phase end?).Photobucket

The combination of the bar of dark+dairy milk chocolate with coffee, mmm heavenly. Photobucket

I love the interior. So unique and unlike any other cafes I’ve been to.

We were starving so we made our way to Vintage Delicafe. THIS ONE. I’ve heard so many people rave about it, really, countless of times. True to their name, the owner decorates the interior with lots of vintage items. You name it, from typewriter to an old school radio, super interesting!

I had the shock of my life when we were served cos yes, the serving was really hugeeeee. Its unbelievable especially when you look at the price and my gosh, its really really affordable. I had the Grilled Dory Fish with Pomodoro Sauce. I generally prefer chicken/meat over fish but I guess there is an exception for Dory fish fillets. Heheh. Photobucket

As usual, being the typical meat eating man, Aman had the steak with black pepper sauce. Yums. Though my Dory still wins huhuhu.Photobucket

I wanted to try something from their variety of tea but the weather was scorching hot so I settled for some Vanilla Cream. Smooth.Photobucket

HAHA irritating pervy face!Photobucket

In an attempt to get rid of our guilt since we’ve been eating a lot these days, we went for a walk along Haji Lane. Spotted this store selling these super cute bikes, practically ran into the store and immediately ran back out after looking at the super hefty price tags! Haha! Photobucket

HELLO KITTY, WHY SO CUTE?Photobucket

When it comes to trying out new food, Aman and I can become champions I think. We loveeeeeee food, intensely love that kind! Especially new and super interesting eating joints, especially, a restaurant serving Halal French Cuisine. I mean, who wouldn’t want to try right? Moreover, me, the girl who worships (for lack of a better word, no don’t worry I only worship one God) the ground that Eiffel Tower was built on! :) So, we went on a date to Le Bistro Parisien!

First impression, wah not bad. We were even greeted with a bonjour by the restaurant owner. At first sight, I spotted macaroons! WAH, +10 points! So we went upstairs and were immediately served a basket of bread and cold water. Nice.

Since its our first time there, we decided to try out the Lunch Set which was really reasonably priced at just $18.90 for a soup of your choice, main course and coffee/tea! Though the choices are really limited, especially for the main course, you get to choose one from only three dishes.Photobucket

I chose the Potato and Leek soup while Aman had Wild Mushroom soup. I prefer the Wild Mushroom soup, chunks of mushroom swimming yum!Photobucket

Photobucket

He chose the Boneless Leg of Lamb stewed with baby carrots and garden herbs. The meat was really tender and nice and I like the sauce though I prefer mine! Heheh!Photobucket

Photobucket

I especially loved my choice cos of the pasta! Pasta > Potatoes anytime! Heheh! I tried the Boneless Chicken Leg sauteed and stewed in Basquaise Sauce. Yum!Photobucket

The place is really beautifully decorated with lots of old Malay film posters and portraits of old time actors and actresses. Really nice touch for a French themed restaurant!

HELLO MY FAVOURITE DESSERT IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!

Creme Brulee baby, you did not disappoint. Although to be honest, I’d say I still prefer Carousel’s! It was probably due to the size of the serving cos Carousel serves it bite sized and here, I get one entire ramekin. But the crackling of the burnt sugar, oh yummy! Another highlight is that they use vanilla pods which I thought was really really nice since its so pricey and all, rather than settling for vanilla essence. Photobucket

PhotobucketOverall, it was really an enjoyable lunch date especially because no one was upstairs with us and we had the place to ourselves. Quiet and the french themed music made it really beautiful. Yes, I would come back again! What are you waiting for? Go go go!

Oh and did I mention, no GST and service charge! :D

PhotobucketThis, may possibly be the best KEROPOK LEKOR I’ve ever tasted! and also the most fattening one. Photobucketxoxo, Nadia!

If your stomach is growling/empty/begging to be filled with food even when you just ate just now and you’re on a diet (HAHA SUPER LONG), you can skip this entry ok! :D :D

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Do you know what is my favourite fruit in the whole wide world?! Do youuuu know? Ya okay I know you never ask, but I want to tell you that it’s….STRAWFREAKINGBERRIES. Eh, I swear. If you campak me at Cameron Highlands (if you din’t know, they’re famous for their strawberries), I can happily golek golek on the farm, skipping here and there, picking the strawberries and having them for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, linner, supper, I would be the happiest girl in the world.

Actually a bit poyo right. Jengjeng new vocabulary for you! HAHA. Actually, I just learnt this word, it’s a Malaysian term for macam paham (this one my friend, Zafy told me). But I decided to do some research (ya I know, too free right), some say it means, “poser”, “wannabe” and then one person even gave a super merepek definition, “A ‘poyo’ is a shlaprut with a goplatistic envionatra and is only found in Playapostia” HAHA ape ke merepek. But I take it that it means macam paham ah. Later next weekend, when I arrive in KL, I’ll try asking random people for the real meaning huhu, and now I can’t believe that I just typed an entire paragraph on the word poyo T_T

So yah, my point is I scooped some chocolate ice cream, piled on some whipped cream and topped it with chopped strawberries. Ya that’s all. HEHEHEH.

I woke up to an empty house the other day. Was super hungry and decided to whip some spaghetti. Whenever I’m alone at home, I amaze myself. Somehow I’m always motivated to enter the kitchen and whip out something if my mother’s not around. If she’s around I’ll just give her my puss-in-boots look and go Ibu I hungryyyyyyyyy then my mother will nag nag nag “why you 21 years old cannot make your own breakfast? look at your cousin *insert name here*, she can cook on her own you know! so independent!” Eleh, how she know my cousin never ask her mother to cook for her hmph. Haha bitter eh.
I whipped up some chocolate cupcakes topped with dark chocolate ganache. Again, I don’t even know how I managed to do it, googled for a recipe, changed here and there anyhow, tada! It was super nice (HAHA puji diri sendiri) but really, even my mother said so and she always always dishes out tough criticisms on my cooking/baking. Aman, polished off the rest. So yay, sukses!

I should stop using my bed as a background for pictures but I cannot resist its too pretty :3
THIS IS HEAVENLY. Went to Fish and Co with Syieraa and granAdillah the other day and we had fish and chips and THIS LOVELY CONCOCTION OF MUSSELS AND LEMON BUTTER OMAIGOD accompanied by warm focaccia bread! <3 <3 <3 <3 Beliebe me, I usually dislike mussels to the power of millions but THIS. You must go and try ok!

Okay the reason why I referred to Adillah as granAdillah was because of this drink. Seamonkey freeze (didchu keep seamonkeys as pets last time? the one where they came in powder form and you had to pour it inside a small tank of water and it’ll grow? I did and now that I think about it, what did I breed man? were they some kind of worms?!) So this seamonkey freeze and all their other freezes had pine granadilla/something something granadilla in the menu. So yeah, it was super sedap though. So worth the money to share with your friends cos the glass’ really hugeeeeeeeeeeeee.

YES I am such a glutton. Huhu. But I went to the gym just now and ran and ran and ran and did cardio so I don’t feel so guilty after consuming all those snacks. Heheh.

OKAY BYE XX NADIA.
