Nom nom nom

Oh my goodness. I’ve never been this busy, ever. I cannot even transcribe the immensity of how swamped I am/was. After weeks of crazy assignments, went to Malacca for Hari Raya Haji and now I’m supposed to start mugging for exams but to be honest, I’m doing everything but studying T_T

I really do miss my blog, uploading pictures and sghijabgirl. If only I could ask Harry Potter for his Time Turner.

After exams, which ends on next Tuesday, I’m flying to Korea asap and I won’t be in SG for our 5th year anniversary. Can’t help but feel super upset #firstworldwoes

But in the midst of being busy and all, we managed to squeeze in a dinner date at Pizza Hut with our groupons heheheheh and our favourite drink at Starbucks, Toffee Nut Latte. Thank you Aman for being super understanding through the crazy weeks and for reading my lesson plans, giving me honest constructive feedback on my works, for all the ideas and the long whiny phonecalls, I am so glad to have you in my life, the anchor to my sanity :)

and my lovely friend, Ahmad gave me this super duper special exam package! Seriously, it came at such a great timing. Right after I concluded my 3000 words essay in 2 nights, I received a text msg and srsly, you may think its just a packet of snacks but it meant the world to me :) Yes, that was how stressed I was.  AND BLAIR AND CHUCK’S LIMOVERSARY OMGOSH. I’ve got no time to wax lyrical about how AMAZING and beautiful and heartbreaking the episode was so I’m just gonna copy paste every single thing that shares my exact sentiment  from other Chair shippers. I can’t believe its been 4 years but VIVA CHUCK AND BLAIRRRRRR.

No but really, how genious was the all “skycraper” thing. The fact that in his dreams Chuck keep seeing this beautiful, magnificent skycraper but he can’t go up there no matter how hard he tries to, no matter how much he wants to. And in the real world he waited the love of his life on one of the highest skycraper of the world, but she didn’t show up in time and he had to gave up on that love because he thought it was lost forever. How heartbreaking is the fact that in his subconscious he’s still trying to change what it was without any success, that he’s still desperately trying to hold on to the past, to hold on to that ring he couldn’t gave to her. But you can’t change the past, you have to look forward…you have to change the present to make your future better. And in the end he comes up to this conclusion and the final destinal is still Blair. It all begins and it all ends with Blair. And maybe even start again with her. It is the only chance he has: to say sorry and let go. The only chance. And it’s something so sad and full of hope at the same time that ring abandoned on the door of that skycraper.

“When Chuck gets upset his voice gets all raspy like a sexy, rapey Batman.”

“”You’re always there for the people you love, even when they don’t deserve it,” Chuck observes of Blair. “You know that’ll never change,” she replies. It’s nice that even when they’re saying goodbyes Blair admits she’ll always be there for him. Their friendship, even removed from their actual love story, has always been one of my favorite things about the show. “Starting tonight I’m going to take charge of myself,” Chuck vows. I guess this means no more drama queen theatrics on roofs, which is frankly a bit of a disappointment.“

“After a brief hiatus, Gossip Girl returned this evening with an episode that took its sweet time getting off the ground, but ended with a flourish, potentially reigniting a couple that was once the show’s signature.”

“Listening to him rattle off his failures was heartbreaking, even if there’s no defending them. Only after baring his soul tonight has Chuck become the man who many, including Blair, always wanted him to be.”

“The first substantive Chair scene of the season was definitely worth the wait. Not that their storylines have been poles apart. Dr. Eliza Barnes was right about that: For Chuck Bass, it’s always about Blair.”

I swear, Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester are really really REALLY good actors.

I hope you’re reading this after buka time. If not, then from the bottom of my heart, I apologize profusely. Heheh.Photobucket

I was craving for these gong gongs. To be honest, I still cannot understand how I could crave for something I’ve never tasted before. Anyways, it has a really interesting texture and flavor. I haven’t decide on whether I like it or not, its just weird…similar to escargot but not quite. I think I prefer clams.

You can never go wrong with ikan pari bakar. Really. Terbaik! (I’ve adopted this terbaik slang lately. HAHA. Its really Malaysian but I like it. Huhuhu)

CHILLI CRAB. Apparently, this dish is THE dish foreigners hunt for when they land in Singapore. My parents loved it so much but I found the eggy taste a bit disturbing.
PhotobucketMY ALL TIME FAVOURITE. Cereal Prawns. Oh the fragrant of the curry leaves intertwine with the slight hint of chill paid and the texture of the crispy crunchy oats in your mouth. TERBAIK TIMES ONE MILLION. HAHAHAHAHA I should really stop with this terbaik word I know.

Yes, we’re a family of three and yes, we eat a lot. HEHEH.

Love you times infinity ibu&ayah :)

If you plan to buka there, I recommend stall #46. It can get quite chaotic when every stall owner is shoving their respective menus in your face, so yeah, my mother loved the food from that stall andddd she’s a tough critic when it comes to food :)

xoxo, Nadia!

Amidst our busy schedules, with my practicum right now (I don’t really do anything except observe or teach a bit here and there but believe me, I’m not joking when I say I come back, crawl onto my bed and fall asleep in a jiffy) and him, being a student and all, its really a miracle that we get to sneak in our weekly dates in between.

I’ve been wanting to try out Loysel’s Toy Cafe for quite some time but just, never got to it. Then, the other day, I read fuzzygreenlights’ entry about her visit and I went, that’s it, no more procrastinating, I must go right about now! :) People have been telling me that its really inaccessible by public and I have to agree. Even with the car, we still had to use gps and all cos er, it’s really far off inside.

The cafe’s very quaint and quiet. I mean, I guess I’m so used to the stereotype of loud grinding blender sounds whenever I have my caffeine fix at Starbucks that it gets awkward to be in a coffee place and hear only murmurs of conversations and the occasional tinkling of the spoon against the interior of a teacup.

Haha! Don’t be irritated by our faces. I was trying to illustrate to Aman about a super cute scene in Secret Garden (yes, the current kdrama I’m watching sigh when will this phase end?).Photobucket

The combination of the bar of dark+dairy milk chocolate with coffee, mmm heavenly. Photobucket

I love the interior. So unique and unlike any other cafes I’ve been to.

We were starving so we made our way to Vintage Delicafe. THIS ONE. I’ve heard so many people rave about it, really, countless of times. True to their name, the owner decorates the interior with lots of vintage items. You name it, from typewriter to an old school radio, super interesting!

I had the shock of my life when we were served cos yes, the serving was really hugeeeee. Its unbelievable especially when you look at the price and my gosh, its really really affordable. I had the Grilled Dory Fish with Pomodoro Sauce. I generally prefer chicken/meat over fish but I guess there is an exception for Dory fish fillets. Heheh. Photobucket

As usual, being the typical meat eating man, Aman had the steak with black pepper sauce. Yums. Though my Dory still wins huhuhu.Photobucket

I wanted to try something from their variety of tea but the weather was scorching hot so I settled for some Vanilla Cream. Smooth.Photobucket

HAHA irritating pervy face!Photobucket

In an attempt to get rid of our guilt since we’ve been eating a lot these days, we went for a walk along Haji Lane. Spotted this store selling these super cute bikes, practically ran into the store and immediately ran back out after looking at the super hefty price tags! Haha! Photobucket

HELLO KITTY, WHY SO CUTE?Photobucket

When it comes to trying out new food, Aman and I can become champions I think. We loveeeeeee food, intensely love that kind! Especially new and super interesting eating joints, especially, a restaurant serving Halal French Cuisine. I mean, who wouldn’t want to try right? Moreover, me, the girl who worships (for lack of a better word, no don’t worry I only worship one God) the ground that Eiffel Tower was built on! :) So, we went on a date to Le Bistro Parisien!

First impression, wah not bad. We were even greeted with a bonjour by the restaurant owner. At first sight, I spotted macaroons! WAH, +10 points! So we went upstairs and were immediately served a basket of bread and cold water. Nice.

Since its our first time there, we decided to try out the Lunch Set which was really reasonably priced at just $18.90 for a soup of your choice, main course and coffee/tea! Though the choices are really limited, especially for the main course, you get to choose one from only three dishes.Photobucket

I chose the Potato and Leek soup while Aman had Wild Mushroom soup. I prefer the Wild Mushroom soup, chunks of mushroom swimming yum!Photobucket

Photobucket

He chose the Boneless Leg of Lamb stewed with baby carrots and garden herbs. The meat was really tender and nice and I like the sauce though I prefer mine! Heheh!Photobucket

Photobucket

I especially loved my choice cos of the pasta! Pasta > Potatoes anytime! Heheh! I tried the Boneless Chicken Leg sauteed and stewed in Basquaise Sauce. Yum!Photobucket

The place is really beautifully decorated with lots of old Malay film posters and portraits of old time actors and actresses. Really nice touch for a French themed restaurant!

HELLO MY FAVOURITE DESSERT IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!

Creme Brulee baby, you did not disappoint. Although to be honest, I’d say I still prefer Carousel’s! It was probably due to the size of the serving cos Carousel serves it bite sized and here, I get one entire ramekin. But the crackling of the burnt sugar, oh yummy! Another highlight is that they use vanilla pods which I thought was really really nice since its so pricey and all, rather than settling for vanilla essence. Photobucket

PhotobucketOverall, it was really an enjoyable lunch date especially because no one was upstairs with us and we had the place to ourselves. Quiet and the french themed music made it really beautiful. Yes, I would come back again! What are you waiting for? Go go go!

Oh and did I mention, no GST and service charge! :D
